Checotah Wildcats (Checotah, OK) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Sallisaw Black Diamonds (Sallisaw, OK), 9-5 in a league challenge.

The Wildcats now own a 11-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Fort Gibson for a 4A District 5 challenge on Thursday, August 24. Checotah will face a Tigers squad coming off a 12-0 non-league loss to Stigler (Stigler, OK). The Tigers record now stands at 7-13.

With the loss, Sallisaw falls to 1-9 on the campaign. The Black diamonds travel to Colcord (Colcord, OK) to face the Hornets in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, August 22. The Hornets enter the challenge with a record of 1-6. Colcord lost 11-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Oktaha (Oktaha, OK)
