South Paulding Spartans (Douglasville, GA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Paulding County Patriots (Dallas, GA), 8-3 in a league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 5-2 record. They take the field next when they host Langston Hughes for a 6A Region 5 challenge on Thursday, August 24. South Paulding will battle a Panthers squad coming off a 12-8 league loss to New Manchester (Douglasville, GA). The Panthers record now stands at 0-5.

With the loss, Paulding County falls to 7-2 on the campaign. The Patriots host Whitefield Academy (Mableton, GA) to battle the WolfPack in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, August 23. The WolfPack enter the challenge with a record of 1-2. Whitefield Academy lost 9-1 in their recent non-league challenge against North Cobb Christian (Kennesaw, GA)
