The Elbert County Blue Devils volleyball team (Elberton, GA), went down 2-0 in Tuesday's non-league challenge with the visiting Stephens County Indians (Toccoa, GA)
The Indians (5-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Banks County (Homer, GA). The Leopards enter the non-league challenge with a 6-4 record. In their last challenge, Banks County went down by Rabun Gap-Nacoochee (Rabun Gap, GA), 2-1, in a non-league challenge.
Next, the Blue Devils encounter the Cedar Shoals Jaguars (Athens, GA) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, August 23. Elbert County will attempt to move on its 3-8 season record. The Jaguars enter the challenge with a 0-10 record after their 2-0 non-league loss to East Jackson (Commerce, GA).
Match Summary
Stephens County was back in action on Tuesday taking on Elbert County and Banks County at Banks County High School in Homer, GA. The Lady Indians left Homer with a split of one win and one loss on the night. First came a rematch from last week against Elbert County and the result was the same with Stephens winning in straight sets. The next match came against a motivated Banks County team playing in front of a full home crowd on "Spike Out Cancer" fundraiser night. Stephens held tough in the first set but came up short. Banks played a strong 2nd set including a few friendly bounces and finished off a tired Lady Indians team. Stephens County's next play date is Thursday 8/24 at Habersham County at 6:00pm.
