In Thursday's league test, the Screven County Gamecocks (Sylvania, GA) softball squad got by the visiting Emanuel County Institute Bulldogs (Twin City, GA), by a tally of 2-1.

Next, the Gamecocks meet the Evans Knights (Evans, GA) in a non-league test, on Monday, August 26. Screven County will attempt to advance on its 5-0 season record. The Knights go into the test with a 4-2 record after their 6-5 non-league win over Glascock County (Gibson, GA).

The Bulldogs (6-5) will now prepare for their test against Effingham County (Springfield, GA). The Rebels go into the non-league test with a 2-2 record. In their last test, Effingham County was nudged by Appling County (Baxley, GA), 7-0, in a non-league test.
