Portal Panthers (Portal, GA) backers left the game pleased Thursday as they saw their softball squad nudge the visiting Jenkins County War Eagles (Millen, GA), 12-11 in a league game.

The War Eagles now own a 3-5 record. They play next when they host Metter for a 1A D-II Region 3 game on Tuesday, August 27. Jenkins County will play a Tigers squad coming off a 12-0 league win over McIntosh County Academy (Darien, GA). The Tigers record now stands at 4-2.
