In Friday's non-league battle, the visiting Newton-Conover Red Devils football team scored a nice 42-21 win over the Alexander Central Cougars.
With the win, Newton-Conover improves its record to 1-0 on the season. The Red Devils travel to Polk County (Columbus, NC) to play the Wolverines in a non-league battle on Friday, August 29.
