Spectators at Saturday's non-league contest between the Lumpkin County Indians (Dahlonega, GA) and the visiting Gilmer Bobcats (Ellijay, GA), saw Lumpkin County's softball squad nip Gilmer by a score of 8-4.

With the triumph, Lumpkin County improves its record to 8-2 on the year. The Indians host North Hall (Gainesville, GA) to face the Trojans in a 3A Region 6 contest on Tuesday, August 26. The Trojans go into the bout with a record of 6-1. North Hall won 10-1 in their recent league bout against Pickens (Jasper, GA)

In their next game, the Bobcats clash with the Calhoun Yellow Jackets (Calhoun, GA) in a 3A Region 7 bout, on Monday, August 25. Gilmer will attempt to advance on its 6-5 season record. The Yellow Jackets go into the bout with a 2-5 record after their 12-9 league loss to LaFayette (LaFayette, GA).
