North Carolina High School Volleyball - Mallard Creek can't get by Porter Ridge

Porter Ridge Pirates (Indian Trail, NC) boosters left the game satisfied Saturday as they saw their volleyball squad edge the visiting Mallard Creek Mavericks (Charlotte, NC), 2-1 in a non-league test.

With the win, Porter Ridge improves its record to 4-4 on the season. The Pirates host Cuthbertson (Waxhaw, NC) to face the Cavaliers in a Southern Carolina 6A/7A test on Tuesday, August 26. The Cavaliers go into the test with a record of 7-2. Cuthbertson lost 3-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Cox Mill (Concord, NC)

Next, the Mavericks meet the Ridge View Blazers (Columbia, SC) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, August 26. Mallard Creek will attempt to upgrade on its 0-10 season record. The Blazers come into the challenge with a 3-2 record after their 2-0 non-league loss to Orangeburg-Wilkinson (Orangeburg, SC).
