Next, the Red Devils confront the Blazer Tomcats (Ashland, KY) in a District 63 challenge, on Tuesday, August 29. Russell will attempt to better on its 6-0 season record. The Tomcats enter the challenge with a 4-0 record after their 7-2 non-league win over Martin County (Inez, KY).

The Blackcats now have a 2-2 record. They take the field next when they host Pike County Central for a District 58 challenge on Monday, August 28. Prestonsburg will confront a Hawks team coming off a 10-0 non-league loss to Spring Valley (Huntington, WV). The Hawks record now stands at 0-2.
