North Carolina High School Volleyball - Southern Wayne tips Goldsboro

The crowd at Thursday's league bout between the Southern Wayne Saints (Dudley, NC) and the host Goldsboro Cougars (Goldsboro, NC), saw Southern Wayne's volleyball squad nip Goldsboro by a tally of 2-1.

With the win, Southern Wayne upgrades its record to 1-2 on the year. The Saints host East Wake (Wendell, NC) to play the Warriors in a non-league bout on Tuesday, August 29. The Warriors go into the bout with a record of 3-3. East Wake lost 2-0 in their recent non-league bout against Southern Nash (Bailey, NC)

The Cougars now own a 1-3 record. They play next when they host Clinton for a non-league bout on Monday, August 28. Goldsboro will play a Dark Horses squad coming off a 2-0 non-league win over Goldsboro (Goldsboro, NC). The Dark Horses record now stands at 3-1.
