Spectators at Thursday's league match between the Pickens Dragons (Jasper, GA) and the visiting Gilmer Bobcats (Ellijay, GA), witnessed Pickens's softball squad prevail over Gilmer by a count of 8-0.

The Dragons now sport a 7-5 record. They play next when they host Dawson County for a 3A Region 7 match on Monday, August 28. Pickens will meet a Tigers squad coming off a 9-1 league win over Lumpkin County (Dahlonega, GA). The Tigers record now stands at 5-5.

With the loss, Gilmer moves to 0-12 on the season. The Bobcats travel to Wesleyan (Norcross, GA) to meet the Wolves in a 3A Region 7 match on Monday, August 28. The Wolves go into the match with a record of 8-1. Wesleyan won 8-0 in their recent non-league match against Westminster (Atlanta, GA)
