Screven County Gamecocks (Sylvania, GA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Metter Tigers (Metter, GA), 5-4 in a league challenge.

The Gamecocks now sport a 4-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Calvary Day for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, August 29.

With the loss, Metter falls to 5-3 on the campaign. The Tigers host Thomas Jefferson Academy (Louisville, GA) to face the Jaguars in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, August 30. The Jaguars enter the challenge with a record of 1-4. Thomas Jefferson Academy lost 6-3 in their recent non-league challenge against Brentwood (Sandersville, GA)
