Morrison Wildcats (Morrison, OK) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Newkirk Tigers (Newkirk, OK), 7-6 in a non-league challenge.

The Wildcats now own a 7-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to Bristow for a non-league challenge on Monday, August 28. Morrison will battle a Pirates squad coming off a 20-0 non-league win over Bishop Kelley (Tulsa, OK). The Pirates record now stands at 11-5.

With the loss, Newkirk falls to 11-12 on the campaign. The Tigers host Chisholm (Enid, OK) to battle the Longhorns in a 3A challenge on Friday, August 25. The Longhorns enter the challenge with a record of 4-10. Chisholm won 4-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Watonga (Watonga, OK)
