The crowd at Thursday's league bout between the East Central Hornets (Moss Point, MS) and the visiting Gautier Gators (Gautier, MS), saw East Central's volleyball squad beat Gautier by a tally of 3-1.

With the win, East Central upgrades its record to 3-6 on the year. The Hornets travel to Our Lady Academy (Bay St. Louis, MS) to play the Crescents in a non-league bout on Saturday, August 26. The Crescents go into the bout with a record of 9-2. Our Lady Academy won 3-0 in their recent league bout against Perry Central (New Augusta, MS)

The Gators now own a 4-8 record. They play next when they travel to Laurel for a non-league bout on Tuesday, August 29. Gautier will play a Golden Tornadoes squad coming off a 3-0 non-league loss to Vancleave (Vancleave, MS). The Golden Tornadoes record now stands at 0-7.
