The Southwest Virginia Academy Conquerors volleyball team scored 3 points and limited the host North Cross Raiders to 1 in the Conquerors league victory on Thursday.
The Conquerors now possess a 3-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Faith Christian Academy for a VACA game on Monday, August 28. Southwest Virginia Academy will meet a team coming off a 3-0 league loss to Westover Christian Academy (Danville, VA). The record now stands at 1-2.
The Raiders (0-1) will now prepare for their game against Lynchburg HomeSchool (Lynchburg, VA). The Patriots enter the VHSAA game with a 1-2 record. In their last game, Lynchburg HomeSchool was dropped by Central Virginia HomeSchool Athletic Association (Amelia Court House, VA), 3-1, in a non-league game.
Match Summary
8/24/23 - Southwest Virginia Academy match: North Cross School lost 1-3 (Set 1: 20-25, Set 2: 7-25, Set 3: 25-21, Set 4: 18-25). This was our first game of the season and was a strong showing. We pulled off the win in the 3rd set. Although we lost, we came away with 22 kills, 14 aces, 56 digs, and 63 receptions.
