In Saturday's non-league test, the Elgin Owls (Elgin, OK) softball squad the host Newcastle Racers (Newcastle, OK), by a tally of 8-5.

Next, the Owls clash with the MacArthur Highlanders (Lawton, OK) in a 5A District 1 test, on Monday, August 26. Elgin will attempt to advance on its 6-4 season record. The Highlanders go into the test with a 3-5 record after their 10-0 league loss to Guthrie (Guthrie, OK).

The Racers (4-6) will now prepare for their test against Locust Grove (Locust Grove, OK). The Pirates go into the non-league test with a 9-0 record. In their last test, Locust Grove held off Ketchum (Ketchum, OK), 9-2, in a non-league test.
