In Saturday's non-league challenge, the host Central Montcalm Hornets volleyball team scored a close 2-1 triumph over the Lakeview Wildcats.

The Hornets (4-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Morley Stanwood (Morley, MI). The Mohawks come into the Central State challenge with a 3-2 record. In their last challenge, Morley Stanwood edged Cheboygan (Cheboygan, MI), 2-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Wildcats meet the Ashley Bears (Ashley, MI) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, August 24. Lakeview will attempt to upgrade on its 4-4 season record. The Bears come into the challenge with a 0-1 record after their 3-0 non-league loss to Owendale-Gagetown (Owendale, MI).
