In Saturday's non-league challenge, the host Hancock Hawks volleyball team scored a close 2-1 victory over the Long Beach Bearcats.

The Hawks (13-7) will now prepare for their challenge against George County (Lucedale, MS). The Rebels enter the Class 6A Region 4 challenge with a 6-3 record. In their last challenge, George County got by East Central (Moss Point, MS), 2-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Bearcats meet the Pascagoula Panthers (Pascagoula, MS) in a Class 6A Region 4 challenge, on Tuesday, August 27. Long Beach will attempt to upgrade on its 7-5 season record. The Panthers enter the challenge with a 3-8 record after their 3-0 non-league loss to Vancleave (Vancleave, MS).
