In Saturday's non-league challenge, the visiting Weslaco Panthers volleyball team scored a 2-0 triumph over the Lyford Bulldogs.

The Panthers (8-9) will now prepare for their challenge against San Benito (San Benito, TX). The Greyhounds come into the non-league challenge with a 3-4 record. In their last challenge, San Benito beat Porter (Brownsville, TX), 3-1, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Bulldogs play the Rio Hondo Bobcats (Rio Hondo, TX) in a 3A Region IV District 32 challenge, on Tuesday, August 27. Lyford will attempt to upgrade on its 2-8 season record. The Bobcats come into the challenge with a 0-4 record after their 3-0 non-league loss to Weslaco (Weslaco, TX).
