The Mingo Central Miners soccer team scored 17 points and limited the visiting Sherman Tide to 0 in the Miners non-league victory on Thursday.
Next, the Miners face the Riverside Warriors (Belle, WV) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, August 27. Mingo Central will attempt to better on its 2-0 season record. The Warriors enter the contest with a 1-1 record after their 4-1 league loss to George Washington (Charleston, WV).
The Tide now have a 0-1 record. They take the field next when they host Midland Trail for a non-league contest on Tuesday, August 30. Sherman will face a Patriots team coming off a 4-3 league loss to Pocahontas County (Dunmore, WV). The Patriots record now stands at 2-1.
