In Thursday's non-league battle, the visiting Shelby Golden Lions volleyball team scored a 2-0 triumph over the Cherryville Ironmen.

The Golden Lions (1-3) will now prepare for their battle against East Rutherford (Forest City, NC). The Cavaliers come into the non-league battle with a 2-2 record. In their last battle, East Rutherford went down by Avery County (Newland, NC), 2-0, in a non-league battle.
