In Thursday's non-league contest, the Salem Spartans (Salem, VA) volleyball squad edged the host Northside Vikings (Roanoke, VA), by a margin of 3-2.

Next up, the Spartans battle the Faith Christian Warriors (Roanoke, VA) in a non-league contest, on Thursday, September 1. Salem will attempt to better on its 2-0 season record.

With the loss, Northside drops to 0-3 on the campaign. The Vikings host Glenvar (Salem, VA) to battle the Highlanders in a non-league contest on Monday, August 29. The Highlanders go into the outing with a record of 1-0.
