The crowd at Friday's non-league bout between the Alpena Leopards (Alpena, AR) and the visiting Bergman Panthers (Bergman, AR), saw Alpena's volleyball squad beat Bergman by a tally of 3-1.

With the win, Alpena upgrades its record to 1-1 on the year. The Leopards travel to Guy-Perkins (Guy, AR) to play the Thunderbirds in a 2A North bout on Tuesday, August 29. The Thunderbirds go into the bout with a record of 1-1.

The Panthers now own a 0-3 record. They play next when they travel to Lincoln for a non-league bout on Monday, August 28. Bergman will play a Wolves squad coming off a 3-2 non-league win over Union Christian Academy (Fort Smith, AR). The Wolves record now stands at 2-0.
