Fans at Monday's non-league contest between the Swain County Maroon Devils (Bryson City, NC) and the host Summit Charter Bears (Cashiers, NC), observed Swain County's volleyball team hold off Summit Charter by a count of 3-2.

The Maroon Devils (3-2) will now prepare for their contest against Hayesville (Hayesville, NC). The Yellowjackets enter the Smoky Mountain 1A/2A battle with a 5-1 record. In their last battle, Hayesville tipped Hiwassee Dam (Murphy, NC), 3-0, in a non-league battle.

The Bears now own a 0-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Murphy for a Smoky Mountain 1A/2A battle on Thursday, August 28.
