The crowd at Friday's non-league bout between the Service Cougars (Anchorage, AK) and the host Kodiak Bears (Kodiak, AK), saw Service's volleyball squad nip Kodiak by a tally of 3-2.

With the win, Service upgrades its record to 2-1 on the year. The Cougars travel to Dimond (Anchorage, AK) to play the Lynx in a 4A Cook Inlet bout on Tuesday, August 30. The Lynx go into the bout with a record of 3-0. Dimond won 3-2 in their recent league bout against West Anchorage (Anchorage, AK)

The Bears now own a 0-1 record. They play next when they host Colony for a 4A Northern Lights bout on Friday, September 9. Kodiak will play a Knights squad coming off a 3-1 league win over Soldotna (Soldotna, AK). The Knights record now stands at 9-0.
