In Saturday's league contest, the Mitchell Kernels (Mitchell, SD) volleyball squad nudged the visiting Spearfish Spartans (Spearfish, SD), by a margin of 2-1.

Next up, the Kernels face the Harrisburg Tigers (Harrisburg, SD) in a AA District 1 contest, on Saturday, August 26. Mitchell will attempt to better on its 2-3 season record. The Tigers go into the contest with a 1-0 record after their 3-1 league win over Brandon Valley (Brandon, SD).
