In Monday's league match, the host Moss Pirates softball team scored a nice 13-1 win over the Varnum Whippets.

The Pirates (9-3) will now prepare for their match against Strother (Seminole, OK). The Yellowjackets come into the non-league match with a 6-2 record. In their last match, Strother notched a victory over Wewoka (Wewoka, OK), 14-0, in a non-league match.

In their next game, the Whippets battle the Asher Indians (Asher, OK) in a Class B match, on Tuesday, August 27. Varnum will attempt to better on its 3-5 season record. The Indians come into the match with a 8-2 record after their 20-0 league win over Paoli (Paoli, OK).
