Lecanto Panthers (Lecanto, FL) backers were pleased Tuesday as they witnessed their volleyball team overcome the host Citrus Hurricanes (Inverness, FL), 2-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Panthers (1-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Crystal River (Crystal River, FL). The Pirates come into the non-league challenge with a 1-0 record. In their last challenge, Crystal River beat North Marion (Citra, FL), 2-1, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Hurricanes face the Weeki Wachee Hornets (Weeki Wachee, FL) in a test, on Thursday, August 28. Citrus will attempt to advance on its 0-2 season record. The Hornets go into the test with a 1-2 record after their 2-1 non-league loss to Springstead (Spring Hill, FL).
