The crowd at Tuesday's league bout between the Cairo Syrupmakers (Cairo, GA) and the host Dougherty Trojans (Albany, GA), observed Cairo's softball team prevail over Dougherty by a tally of 17-1.

The Syrupmakers (3-5) will now prepare for their bout against Westover (Albany, GA). The Patriots enter the 3A Region 1 contest with a 3-7 record. In their last contest, Westover was routed by Bainbridge (Bainbridge, GA), 13-1, in a league contest.

The Trojans now hold a 3-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Peach County for a 3A Region 1 bout on Thursday, August 28. Dougherty will clash with a Trojans team coming off a 19-4 league win over Monroe (Albany, GA). The Trojans record now stands at 7-6.
