Newport Greyhounds (Newport, AR) backers were pleased Tuesday as they witnessed their volleyball team overcome the visiting Bald Knob Bulldogs (Bald Knob, AR), 3-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Greyhounds (1-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Walnut Ridge (Walnut Ridge, AR). The Bobcats come into the 3A 3 challenge with a 0-1 record. In their last challenge, Walnut Ridge was beaten by Salem (Salem, AR), 3-2, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Bulldogs meet the Riverview Raiders (Searcy, AR) in a 3A 4 challenge, on Thursday, August 28. Bald Knob will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record. The Raiders come into the challenge with a 0-1 record after their 3-0 non-league loss to Hoxie (Hoxie, AR).
