West Virginia High School Volleyball - Barnesville Wheeling Central Catholic

Wheeling Central Catholic Maroon Knights (Wheeling, WV) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they observed their volleyball team overcome the visiting Barnesville Shamrocks (Barnesville, OH), 3-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Maroon Knights (1-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Martins Ferry (Martins Ferry, OH). The Purple Riders enter the non-league challenge with a 2-2 record. In their last challenge, Martins Ferry beat Union Local (Belmont, OH), 3-2, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Shamrocks face the St. Clairsville Red Devils (St. Clairsville, OH) in a Buckeye 8 test, on Thursday, August 28. Barnesville will attempt to improve on its 1-4 season record. The Red Devils go into the test with a 5-0 record after their 3-0 non-league win over Bridgeport (Bridgeport, OH).
