James Monroe Mavericks (Lindside, WV) boosters left the game thrilled Tuesday as they saw their volleyball squad nudge the host Independence Patriots (Coal City, WV), 2-1 in a non-league test.

With the win, James Monroe improves its record to 4-2 on the season. The Mavericks travel to Princeton (Princeton, WV) to meet the Tigers in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, August 26. The Tigers come into the challenge with a record of 1-1. Princeton won 2-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Nitro (Nitro, WV)
