In Tuesday's non-league challenge, the host Unity Reed Lions volleyball team scored a 3-1 victory over the Manassas Park Cougars.

The Lions (1-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Meridian (Falls Church, VA). The Mustangs enter the non-league challenge with a 1-1 record. In their last challenge, Meridian was beaten by Kettle Run (Nokesville, VA), 3-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Cougars meet the Brentsville District Tigers (Nokesville, VA) in a Northwestern challenge, on Tuesday, September 2. Manassas Park will attempt to improve on its 0-2 season record. The Tigers go into the test with a 2-0 record after their 3-0 non-league win over James Monroe (Fredericksburg, VA).
