Riverside Warriors (Belle, WV) fans were thrilled Saturday as they observed their soccer team knock off the host Mingo Central Miners (Matewan, WV), 2-0 in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Warriors face the Parkersburg Big Reds (Parkersburg, WV) in a Mountain State challenge, on Tuesday, August 30. Riverside will attempt to better on its 1-1 season record. The Big Reds enter the challenge with a 1-2 record after their 1-0 non-league loss to Greenbrier East (Lewisburg, WV).

The Miners now have a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Grace Christian for a non-league challenge on Monday, August 29. Mingo Central will face a team coming off a 5-2 league loss to Mercer Christian Academy (Princeton, WV). The record now stands at 3-1.
