With the win, Monterey upgrades its record to 14-8 on the year. The Plainsmen travel to Tascosa (Amarillo, TX) to play the Rebels in a non-league bout on Tuesday, August 30. The Rebels go into the bout with a record of 10-11. Tascosa lost 3-0 in their recent non-league bout against Mansfield (Mansfield, TX)

The Westerners now own a 5-13 record. They play next when they host Odessa for a non-league bout on Tuesday, August 30. Lubbock will play a Bronchos squad coming off a 2-1 non-league win over Trinity (Midland, TX). The Bronchos record now stands at 11-6.
