The Tallwood Lions topped the visiting Green Run Stallions volleyball squad by a final score of 3-0 in Tuesday's league game.
Next up, the Lions face the Landstown Eagles (Virginia Beach, VA) in a Beach game, on Tuesday, September 3. Tallwood will attempt to advance on its 1-0 season record. The Eagles go into the game with a 0-1 record after their 3-1 league loss to Cox (Virginia Beach, VA).
The Stallions (0-1) will now prepare for their game against Kellam (Virginia Beach, VA). The Knights go into the Beach game with a 0-1 record. In their last game, Kellam went down by First Colonial (Virginia Beach, VA), 3-2, in a league game.
Match Summary
The Stallions were defeated 3 games to 0 in their opening match of the season. Tallwood used aggressive serving to jump out to a 2 games to none lead against a Green Run squad sporting four players starting their first varsity match.
Tallwood appeared poised to close the match in similar fashion, jumping to a 7-2 lead in the third set and serving for the match at 24-15.

But after trading side-outs, the Stallions comeback attempt fell just short, falling to Tallwood 16-25, 18-25, 25-27.
