Fans at Tuesday's non-league battle between the Santa Teresa Desert Warriors (Santa Teresa, NM) and the host Gadsden Panthers (Anthony, NM), saw Santa Teresa's soccer squad hold off Gadsden by a count of 2-1.

The Desert Warriors (1-0) will now prepare for their battle against Las Cruces (Las Cruces, NM). The Bulldawgs enter the non-league battle with a 1-1 record. In their last battle, Las Cruces was edged by Cleveland (Rio Rancho, NM), 2-1, in a non-league battle.

Next up, the Panthers battle the Roswell Coyotes (Roswell, NM) in a non-league battle, on Friday, August 30. Gadsden will attempt to upgrade on its 1-1 season record. The Coyotes enter the battle with a 3-2 record after their 2-1 non-league loss to Los Lunas (Los Lunas, NM).
