In Tuesday's non-league contest, the Greenbrier East Spartans (Lewisburg, WV) soccer team edged the host Pocahontas County Warriors (Dunmore, WV), by a count of 3-2.
Next, the Spartans face the Woodrow Wilson Flying Eagles (Beckley, WV) in a Coalfield AAA contest, on Thursday, August 29. Greenbrier East will attempt to upgrade on its 2-0 season record. The Flying Eagles enter the contest with a 1-1 record after their 2-0 non-league loss to Hoover (Clendenin, WV).
The Warriors (1-1) will now prepare for their contest against Midland Trail (Hico, WV). The Patriots enter the Coalfield A contest with a 0-2 record. In their last contest, Midland Trail was nipped by James Monroe (Lindside, WV), 3-1, in a non-league contest.
