In Tuesday's league challenge, the host Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest Javelinas volleyball team scored a close 3-2 triumph over the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial Wolverines.

The Javelinas (4-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North (Pharr, TX). The Raiders come into the 5A Region IV District 31 challenge with a 5-7 record. In their last challenge, Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North edged IDEA Pharr (Pharr, TX), 2-1, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Wolverines meet the Pioneer Diamondbacks (Mission, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 31 challenge, on Tuesday, September 3. Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial will attempt to upgrade on its 0-4 season record. The Diamondbacks come into the challenge with a 14-1 record after their 2-0 non-league win over Palmview (La Joya, TX).
