In Wednesday's non-league match, the host Long County Blue Tide softball team scored a tight 5-2 victory over the Ware County Gators.
The Blue Tide (8-2) will now prepare for their match against Islands (Savannah, GA). The Sharks go into the 3A Region 3 match with a 2-3 record. In their last match, Islands was routed by Liberty County (Hinesville, GA), 17-1, in a league match.
The Gators now hold a 3-7 record. They play next when they host Glynn Academy for a non-league game on Thursday, August 28. Ware County will play a Terrors squad coming off a 6-2 non-league loss to Effingham County (Springfield, GA). The Terrors record now stands at 7-3.
