Fans at Wednesday's league contest between the Dayton Greendevils (Dayton, KY) and the visiting Newport Wildcats (Newport, KY), observed Dayton's volleyball team top Newport by a count of 3-0.

The Greendevils (6-3) will now prepare for their contest against Beechwood (Fort Mitchell, KY). The Tigers enter the non-league contest with a 6-1 record. In their last battle, Beechwood achieved victory over Holy Cross (Covington, KY), 2-0, in a league battle.

The Wildcats now own a 2-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Ludlow for a non-league battle on Tuesday, September 2. Newport will encounter a Panthers squad coming off a 2-1 non-league loss to Heritage Academy (Florence, KY). The Panthers record now stands at 2-6.
