Gallatin County Hawks (Junction, IL) boosters left the game satisfied Wednesday as they saw their volleyball squad achieve victory over the visiting Pope County Pirates (Golconda, IL), 2-0 in a league test.

With the win, Gallatin County upgrades its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Hawks host Grayville (Grayville, IL) to meet the Bison in a non-league challenge on Thursday, August 28. The Bison come into the challenge with a record of 0-2. Grayville lost 2-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Carmi-White County (Carmi, IL)

Next, the Pirates meet the Galatia Bearcats (Galatia, IL) in a Greater Egyptian test, on Friday, August 29. Pope County will attempt to advance on its 0-3 season record. The Bearcats go into the test with a 1-1 record after their 2-0 non-league win over Eldorado (Eldorado, IL).
