Boone Central/Newman Grove Cardinals (Albion, NE) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Polk County Slammers (Stromsburg, NE), 13-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Cardinals now own a 2-5 record. They take the field next when they host O'Neill for a non-league challenge on Saturday, August 28. Boone Central/Newman Grove will battle a Eagles squad coming off a 7-3 league win over Ponca (Ponca, NE). The Eagles record now stands at 3-3.

With the loss, Polk County falls to 4-5 on the campaign. The Slammers travel to Pierce (Pierce, NE) to battle the Bluejays in a non-league challenge on Saturday, August 28. The Bluejays enter the challenge with a record of 2-4. Pierce won 17-7 in their recent non-league challenge against North Bend Central (North Bend, NE)
