With the win, El Campo upgrades its record to 5-10 on the year. The Ricebirds travel to Nixon-Smiley (Nixon, TX) to play the Mustangs in a non-league bout on Saturday, August 28. The Mustangs go into the bout with a record of 15-4. Nixon-Smiley won 2-0 in their recent non-league bout against Thrall (Thrall, TX)

The Gobblers now own a 17-5 record. They play next when they host Yoakum for a non-league bout on Tuesday, August 31. Cuero will play a Bulldogs squad coming off a 2-1 non-league loss to Flatonia (Flatonia, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 3-8.
