Jackson County Panthers (Jefferson, GA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Apalachee Wildcats (Winder, GA), 7-4 in a league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 5-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Habersham Central for a 6A Region 8 challenge on Thursday, August 31. Jackson County will battle a Raiders squad coming off a 0-0 league Shiloh (Snellville, GA). The Raiders record now stands at 1-9.

With the loss, Apalachee falls to 10-4 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Gainesville (Gainesville, GA) to battle the Red Elephants in a 6A Region 8 challenge on Thursday, August 31. The Red Elephants enter the challenge with a record of 0-8. Gainesville lost 19-0 in their recent league challenge against North Forsyth (Cumming, GA)
