The crowd at Wednesday's non-league bout between the Brookstone Cougars (Columbus, GA) and the host Miller County Pirates (Colquitt, GA), observed Brookstone's softball team get by Miller County by a final score of 9-6.

The Cougars (4-3) will now prepare for their bout against Taylor County (Butler, GA). The Vikings go into the non-league bout with a 8-5 record. In their last bout, Taylor County tipped Shaw (Columbus, GA), 13-1, in a non-league bout.

In their next game, the Pirates battle the Baconton Charter Blazers (Baconton, GA) in a 1A D-II Region 1 bout, on Thursday, August 29. Miller County will attempt to better on its 7-3 season record. The Blazers go into the bout with a 4-7 record after their 8-7 league loss to Pelham (Pelham, GA).
