Fans at Thursday's non-league contest between the Lumberton Pirates (Lumberton, NC) and the visiting Pine Forest Trojans (Fayetteville, NC), observed Lumberton's volleyball team top Pine Forest by a count of 2-0.

The Pirates (6-1) will now prepare for their contest against Cape Fear (Fayetteville, NC). The Colts enter the non-league contest with a 2-3 record.

The Trojans now own a 0-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Heritage for a non-league battle on Tuesday, September 2. Pine Forest will encounter a Huskies squad coming off a 2-0 non-league win over Wakefield (Raleigh, NC). The Huskies record now stands at 4-2.
