Georgia High School Softball - Cairo bounces Westover

The Cairo Syrupmakers softball team scored 15 runs and held the visiting Westover Patriots to 3 in the Syrupmakers league win on Thursday.

The Syrupmakers now sport a 4-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Monroe for a 3A Region 1 battle on Tuesday, September 2. Cairo will meet a Golden Tornadoes squad coming off a 17-2 league loss to Bainbridge (Bainbridge, GA). The Golden Tornadoes record now stands at 2-7.

The Patriots (3-8) will now prepare for their challenge against Peach County (Fort Valley, GA). The Trojans enter the 3A Region 1 challenge with a 8-7 record. In their last challenge, Peach County overcame Dougherty (Albany, GA), 16-0, in a league challenge.
