Lamar County Trojans (Barnesville, GA) supporters exited the stadium satisfied Thursday as they witnessed their softball team tip the visiting Jackson Red Devils (Jackson, GA), 5-2 in a non-league match.

The Trojans (10-0) will now prepare for their match against Taylor County (Butler, GA). The Vikings enter the non-league game with a 7-2 record. In their last game, Taylor County edged Jasper County (Monticello, GA), 3-2, in a non-league game.

The Red Devils now own a 6-3 record. They play next when they travel to Rutland for a 2A Region 2 game on Tuesday, September 2. Jackson will play a Hurricanes squad coming off a 11-10 non-league loss to Warner Robins (Warner Robins, GA). The Hurricanes record now stands at 2-9.
