The Screven County Gamecocks softball squad (Sylvania, GA), was edged 4-3 in Thursday's league contest with the visiting Metter Tigers (Metter, GA)
With the triumph, Metter improves its record to 5-4 on the year. The Tigers host Claxton (Claxton, GA) to face the Tigers in a 1A D-II Region 3 contest on Tuesday, September 2. The Tigers enter the contest with a record of 2-3. Claxton won 12-0 in their recent league contest against McIntosh County Academy (Darien, GA)
The Gamecocks now hold a 6-3 record. They play next when they travel to Greenbrier for a non-league contest on Tuesday, September 2. Screven County will face a Wolfpack squad coming off a 4-3 non-league loss to Swainsboro (Swainsboro, GA). The Wolfpack record now stands at 5-4.
